crisis services

If you or someone you know is struggling with an emotional crises or mental health emergency, such as thinking/talking about wanting to end their life, take immediate action. It is always best to ask directly if you suspect a person may be suicidal and offer resources, rather than to do or say nothing: NAMI HelpLine is available M-F, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET. Call 800-950-6264, text “NAMI” to 62640, or email. In a crisis, call or text 988 (24/7). They connect people to counselors for support and resources without immediate police or medical intervention unless necessary.

Call 911 If you are in immediate danger, (or go to your local emergency center.) Please be aware, that police are not equipped to offer mental health support and may even pose serious danger to Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Transgender, Mentally Ill, Neurodivergent, and Disabled People.

When you or someone you know is struggling but not in immediate crisis, below is a list of “warm lines”; compassionate, peer-created support lines available free of charge that does not involve law enforcement or police intervention. These services provide emotional support and are safe, confidential and for everyone. Inclusive Therapists is a great resource to find other therapists, support groups, and community-based support.
